Walking for UPSNDOWNS Completed!

We finished our walk in style,  some on horseback and some on foot but all with odd socks for World Down Syndrome Day 2021! Brolay raised an amazing  £555 and UPSNDOWNS have recieved a total of £5300 (at last update).  There is still time to donate so follow the link if you can spare anything at all.... Brolay-walks-upsndowns.

A massive thank you to all the team, and all the co-farmers who happily joined in for this wonderful cause and a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated.

On Sunday 21st March (World Down's Syndrome Day) we hope to finish off with the staff, their children and animals all wearing odd socks and boots so please come back to see what have been up to. Chickens!

The new pens are built and the chickens are in.

When we have surplus eggs we will sell them in a cart at the bottom of our driveway so if you see it be sure to stop and check. In the summer we may also have homegrown fruit and vegetables but we will keep you updated nearer the time.

New Fencing!

New fencing all laid out to be put up in the next few days. Going to look really smart once its done.

Lambs 2020!

Our first lamb of 2020 has been born. We only have 3 mums this year as we sold a large quantity of sheep to restart our herd after several successful years of lambing, the land will only take so many unfortunately hehe. Watch out on our social media for news as they are born.

Corona the cockeral!

Just before lockdown, we got a phone call asking if we could take this noisy cockerel. Corona lived in a built up area and this wasn't going down well with the neighbours. Since Corona has lived with us we can understand why, he is a very vocal but very lovely boy. We need some girlfriends for him now.

New Goats!

Our newest additions are the cute goats. We got a call that these beauties needed a new home due to their owners losing their land so of course we agreed to have them. They are very friendly and cheeky goats, our co-farmers to them for walks around the farm or let them venture around with the gates shut. A firm favourite at the minute.

New sheep!

Our most recent animals are Kerry Hill sheep. We went to Melton Market's national show and sale of traditional and native breeds 2019 and purchased these two. They have been named Kerry and Hilda. Their life with us will hopefully see them become tame (at the minute they are very skittish), and Kerry will hopefully have a lamb this lambing season.

8 week old piglets!

We have 8 week old piglets, these came to us through the sale of some of our sheep. These will spend some time with us until they are big enough to go off to slaughter. We teach our co-farmers that animals do go to slaughter to produce food for us to eat. We then use this meat for cooking skills and bbqs with our co-farmers.

Newborn lambs 2019!

We have more lambs, this year some of the co-farmers managed to watch a lamb being born unassisted and some also seen a staff member asssiting with the birth of twins, unfortunately we lost one of these twins which is a grave reminder that sometimes these times have sad moments but it can be apart of the farming life. Check our Facebook to see more lambs.

Newborn lambs 2018!

We have lambs being born, this particular lamb pictured is going to become a Ram to hopefully father some lambs for us. Boys go off to slaughter when they are big enough and girls stay or are sold on to become mothers. check out our Facebook to see all our lambs born.

A surprise baby!

Zulu has had a baby, we only realised Zulu was preganant about 8-9 weeks before she gave birth. She has been the perfect mother, and her baby has been named Dawn. Although unexpected Dawn will stay with us and will be brought on to become a pony the co-farmers can ride and drive.

Newborn lambs 2017!

We have lambs, these two were rejected by their mother so were taken home by staff who nursed them through the night. They are now doing really well and being bottle fed by our co-farmers and staff. It's a harsh reality to farming life but the co-farmers enjoyed bottle feeding. Check out our Facebook to see more lambs born.

New buildings!

We have had a new carriage shed to store our carriages and also new toilets so that we can offer toilet facilities to people who need them more accessible.

She has a name!

After a vote her name was chosen as Pixie! Pixie is quite a scared pony, she is slowly but surely coming round to the idea that our co-farmers and staff are nice people. We are sure in a year or 2 this pony will be one of our best.

New ponies!

We purchased two ponies from Melton Market on Saturday. We have named the black and white one Zulu, but there is a vote for the brown and white one. These ponies will become brilliant ponies for our co-farmers to work with and ride.
